About

My name is Wesley Whitaker and I enjoy taking photos. I have ever since I was in middle school and I shot my first roll of film on a Pentax K1000. My involvement in journalism in high school and working at Best Buy selling cameras (and appliances) gave me more chances to learn about cameras. In college, I had the privilege of studying abroad in Prague where I attended courses at FAMU International Film School and further developed my love for film. I even bought a medium format camera to shoot several projects, including what would be my first showcase in a gallery for several weeks with other members of my cohort. I’ve owned and used cameras and lenses from Canon, Sony, and now shoot primarily with Nikon — both film and digital.

Since graduating college and working full time in the California State Assembly, photography has taken a back seat in my life. I am, however excited about getting back into this passion of mine and will be hopefully updating this website more often.
